Everyone wants to offer their own position of dog behavior advice when it comes to aggressive canines. The truth is aggressive canines are unsafe to be around. So, socialization for all dogs is critical, right from the start. This reality can't be emphasized too greatly.
My dog behavior advice is "start at the puppy stage." Mischievous behavior is cute, but vicious behavior must not be tolerated.
Here are 7 tips to correct your dog's behavior.
1. "Award" rewards. Remember that your pet may have whatever he wants if he is willing to hustle for it. Remember to reward all impromptu acceptable behavior.
2. Manage the food supply. Since food is such a valuable asset, it is necessary to make your pet understand you restrict this valuable asset.
3. Ration petting. Petting, and the acknowledgment that goes with it, is a dynamic reward for a lot of canines and as such must be restricted in the same way as food.
4. Ration praise. Praise can be another highly prized asset for which dominant dogs must be required to work. Praising a pet continuously decreases the meaning of this otherwise much esteemed acknowledgment.
5. Utilizing toys as rewards. The provision of toys is an entitlement for which "alpha" dogs must work.
6. Ration games. Games are enjoyable, and as such should be restricted. You need to initiate all games and you determine when they are over.
7. Let your dog earn their freedom. Freedom is one of life's benefits and with privilege comes the need for social responsibility and respect.
